ABORTION
We believe that abortion is a tragedy whenever it occurs, but we recognize our view is strongly opposed by others. We believe that if the Supreme Court were to overturn Roe v. Wade, abortions would likely continue in the same manner that drinking continued during prohibition. We are not "pro-choice" by any means; we are strongly pro-life.
That said, however, we believe that pro-life policies must be assiduously followed by government; that is, we believe government policy must vigorously promote pro-life policies, not simply pander to pro-life voters at election time.
Actions speak louder than mere words. And talk is cheap. We believe a truly pro-life government puts it's money where it's mouth is.
We believe government should relentlessly and vigorously prosecute statutory rape and incest; provide free, quality obstetric care for impoverished women; promote local child-care programs that allow women to work; relentlessly enforce court orders of child-support; permit unwanted children to be abandoned at hospitals, firehouses, police stations and houses of worship without fear of prosecution; and provide generous cash support programs for parents of disabled children and those who wish to adopt. We believe that seriously handicapped children should be provided for in state-funded group homes at taxpayer expense if their families are unable or unwilling to care for them.
We believe that American culture should be altered so that American women no longer believe that abortion is "a woman's choice", but an unconsciounable act against innocents that no reasonable person would even consider. We oppose late-term abortions unless the life of the mother is in jeopardy.
